With weather against us, strong winds, rain and sea mist the ThunderCats were not going to whimp out on this gruelling endurance race... its about personal achievement and truly everyone who finished Torquay long-haul could be proud of themselves... For all the other Offshore Classes present at this Powerboating festival they thought we verged on the side of madness; questions were being asked should you not cancel the race? why not reduce the course... hard and fast the Officer of the Day Jackie Baker stuck to her guns knowing that her team of racers had the ability to complete the long haul even in these conditions and so they proved her right!

P750 Blue Print Class

1st Team Aquarius - Sean Fisher and Grant Pittard

2nd Team SelfTrade (Ceasar hull) - James Sinclair and Murray McGregor

3rd Team TSA - Tom Williams Hawks and John Guille

P750 Standard Class

1st Team ZigZag - Etienne Burnett and Will Driscoll

2nd Team World of Powerboats - Ben Adams and Tilly Long

3rd Team Redrourke - John Redman and Ed Redman

What happened during the race... 55 miles of hard graft!

Sean Fisher lost his co-pilot over the side, grabbed him, pulled him into the boat and still finished 1st in P750 - he isn’t called the BULL for nothing!

Team VoomVoom had to retire and James Tapp's Co-pilot Damien Bowen was battered and bruised - luckily the pain didn’t last for long that night he was out on the town celebrating with the ThunderCat pride... nothing like a bit of a dance to warm the muscles up!

Team Microlink Darryn Harrison also gave his co-pilot a hard ride and they had to retire... Poor Jonno O'Rourke was sent to hospital for a check-up on a stretcher..... don’t worry guys he was released OK and partied the night away till 4am -  quite clearly a true thundercatter...

... leaving on a positive note; all the teams had a wonderful time, although exhausted they were delighted with the night life of Torquay always remembering No alcohol before a race but after when racing has finished the party begins; I as the organiser of ThunderCat Racing can say that when the race was finished and I saw the last boat return - a rush of pride for what each team had achieved came over me... they were true athletes and professionals on the water - Well Done Guys!! It's what our series is about!
