Safety comes first!
I
have to commend all the teams participating in our training weekend at Hamble last
Saturday and Sunday. Although the
weather was mixed and dodging between sun, rain and hail stones was amusing! I
believe that everyone had an excellent and productive weekend. Well done Guy’s you all deserve a pat on your
back!
- A big thank
you to our new Medic team ‘The Magpies’ it’s wonderful to have you all on
board!
- As usual
thanks to our Officials, Safety team and all our community helpers.
- On behalf
of everyone we all thank Hilary and Beck’s for their stamina in preparing
and cooking food throughout the two day under very bad conditions.
- Mike
Myden, South West logistics manager on behalf of BP, ABP and Southampton’s
Harbour Masters team all need a special mention for allowing us to use
their beach, slipway and Southampton waters, it was wonderful to have
their cooperation to have a safe and convenient area to use as our
training area.
- It was
super to see so many new teams on the water including Alex and Jodie from
Sports Boat and Rib Magazine, Nick from World of Powerboats, Tom and
Duncan from Rib Eye / Rib International.
During
Sunday we had a special celebrity turn up to cheer us on. Team Honey Party.com
Mr Richard Carr, his niece and
girlfriend Julia drove from Sandbanks to see how ‘Grass Root’ racing can set
the pace for the new generation of Powerboat Racers as his fellow driver Paul
Sinclare’s son James took to water to see whether he would like to join our
community – Quite clearly as long as Dad sponsors him we have a new team quote
from James ‘Its fantastic I would give work and college up to do it!’. ‘I was so pleased to see Richard and Paul
stand on the shoreline cheering the teams on, it gives the guys the opportunity
to realise that we ThunderCat Racing are recognised, I personally wish to thank
Richard for turning up, his time is valuable and to dedicate some to us to encourage
the teams whilst training was excellent! We look forward to seeing him at the
P1 events, you never know we might even get him to have a go…’ stated Fiona Pascoe TC organiser.
