Aquarius or Gemini in the USA? 1 Year, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Seems like with a bit of trouble I can get either of th ese two hulls shipped to the USA. I won't be racing this boat (since no one else has them here!) so out-n-out speed is not the highest factor.

I know from two folks with Geminis that they are well made. Hows the Aquarius for a general use fun fast boat? Is the Hyperlon of good quality?

Next I have to decide between an old Yamaha C50 or a new Tohatsu TLDI (with 55lb more weight incl. battery etc.) but I would get my emisions compliant engine...

Thanks!
Mike.

Hi Mike,

If you are not looking for a boat for all out racing, you might want to consider the Ratcat - this is a new boat that is available in the UK.

This boat is probably the most comfortable by far and is a little wider and longer than the Aquarius (so you have more space for your passengers) and definitely 'softer' than both the Aquarius and Gemini hulls.
Saying that - this boat is also extremely competitive so even if you decided you wanted to go racing at some stage you could.
I am the Ratcat rep in the UK and have just got my hands on a couple of these - I have one entered in the world championships and finished 7th overall - not bad for our first competitive 'race'.

Let me know if you want any details, or just visit my website www.ratcat.co.uk or email me This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Cheers

Well as I stated I am in the USA not the UK. The Gemini and Aquarius are somewhat available here.

I used to live in the UK (15yrs ago...)

I am sure that we have a dealer based in the US - I will check & let you know on Monday. If you send me your email address I will see what I can sort out for you. Cheers, Paul

Ceasers are not available in the US. I found someone in Florida who imports the Aquarius and Gemini Australia will ship here as well. My two options - I'd just like to make the most informed decision.

On the engine side I think you're right about the the Yamaha. It seems everyone uses the old Tohatsus - not the new TLDIs.

A couple of people here have modified Yamaha 70s - one with 98hp!! Says in reality its only good for another 7-8mph topend. Probably gets there quick!
